The 3 Unique Atmospheres of The Marmalade Pantry

Here at The Marmalade Pantry, we are perhaps best known for our scrumptious café and bistro style food. By taking the best of both the East and West, and injecting a little local flair, our classics like the Spicy Crabmeat pasta, Truffled Beef Burger, dainty Marmalade cupcakes, and the signature Afternoon Tea Set were created. If not for our food, then perhaps you know us for the excellent service of our friendly servers, some of whom may have become familiar faces to you. Whichever of these endears The Marmalade Pantry the most to you, there is a little something about us that often goes overlooked.

And that is - though they all share the “The Marmalade Pantry” name, our three locations, at Downtown; Novena; and ION, have their own distinct layout, décor, and settings that create different atmospheres unique to the location.

The Marmalade Pantry ION - Dining in the City

First off, we have our flagship outlet, The Marmalade Pantry ION. Perhaps the most well-known of our locations, this outlet is situated in an open space on the exquisite fourth floor of ION Orchard. Dining here offers a relaxing reprieve from the bustle of shopping at the luxury brand stores that surround the restaurant, giving one a more than momentary glimpse into the life of a ‘tai tai’. Its prime location makes the ION outlet perfect for office workers looking to nip by for a fulfilling meal of Truffled Field Mushroom Risotto, or Kimchi Fried Rice at lunch, and for anyone else looking for a good spot to catch-up with old friends over cupcakes or a our signature Sticky Toffee & Date Pudding.

The Marmalade Pantry Novena - Intimate, Cosy Dining

The Marmalade Pantry Novena is located at the Oasia Hotel Novena and offers what is likely the most intimate and cosy setting amongst our outlets. This intimacy is created through the enclosed (but never claustrophobic) space of the restaurant. Sitting at a table here, one would fine find themselves surrounded by gorgeous textured walls, each side with its own myriad of patterns that seem to absorb and shield you from the cacophonic sounds of simultaneous conversation, creating a tranquil quietude. Overhead, the checkerboard lights provide a warm, ambient glow, as if illuminated by candlelight. These elements make for an excellent spot to have an Afternoon Tea Set, and a tête-à-tête with someone dear.

The Marmalade Pantry Downtown - A Lush Indoor Garden Vibe

In stark contrast to enclosed intimacy is the open, roomy, cosiness of the Downtown location. When you step into The Marmalade Pantry Downtown, you are not so much stepping into an ordinary restaurant as you are into a lush indoor garden scape. The high ceiling and large foyer create a sense of roominess and serenity. Sounds seem to travel away, without a hint of an echo, while sunlight streams through the tall glass windows to illuminate all. Looking out through these windows, you would see people from all walks of life going about their day, while time seems to slow for a moment as you sip on tea and tidy up the rest of the scones. The green shades of the nature-inspired décor combine with the pink of the walls in pastel harmony. This little oasis makes for a romantic spot, intimate enough to be a wedding venue, for which the restaurant is available to be booked for.
